Le Parc
Les Crayeres, 64 bd Henry Vasnier, 51100 Reims, France • +33 (03) 26 24 90 00 • Map • WebsiteLe Parc restaurant is situated in the Château les Crayères hotel. I had considered staying here while I was in Reims but it was a bit far from all the other attractions (although just across the road to Veuve Clicquot).
At the time the restaurant had two tasting menus. I elected to have the one which had each course matched with a different Ruinart champagne (after all, when in Champagne...).
As befitting a 2 star restaurant the food was superb. I had hors d’oeuvres followed by crab (twice, similar ingredients served differently), yabbies (although they called them crayfish), prawns four different ways, sea bass, pigeon, and dessert (2 different desserts based around raspberries, the second of which had 3 separate elements). I added a cheese course with a glass of vintage port at the end. It was not cheap but it was spectacular and I certainly had no objection to the price. My only complaint would be that it was served a bit fast, as dinner only took just over 3 hours.
